What's this site about?
We occasionally receive email indicating that
people have come to this site looking for information about gold
and gold rushes, such as the California gold rush
of the 1800s.
While the name of this site is Internet
Goldrush, you're not
going to find anything
about gold here! The
site takes its name from
the rush to grab prime
domain name
"virtual
estate", which many
have likened to the
online equivalent of the
aforementioned gold
rush. If you have your
heart set on finding out
about gold-related
goldrushes, here's some
more information on "Gold Rush" courtesy of
Yahoo!
In
short, this site aims to
be the definitive guide
to domain names, whether
you're registering,
buying or selling them.
Other
things this site
isn't...
Internet Goldrush
(this site) does not
provide direct domain
registration services, although
it is owned by DomainIt,
a fully ICANN-accredited registry.
Similarly, Internet Goldrush
does not offer
brokerage/middleman
services for entities
seeking to sell domain
names, nor does it offer
appraisal services. In
brief, Internet Goldrush is a pure information
resource, dedicated to providing the best and most comprehensive
independent overview of the domain name industry.
What's the history
of this site?
This site was
started by Edwin Hayward in early
1996 to track the developments in the emerging growth market for
domain names. In late 1996, the site moved to its own domain
name, "Internet Goldrush" - a name that accurately
foretold the mad scramble for domain names of the last couple of
years! The site and content were sold to DomainIt,
who have expressed their intention to maintain this site's
editorial freedom and unbiased observer status going
forward.
I paid to register a domain name, but I have not heard
from you. What happened?
It's likely you are confusing Internet Goldrush
with DomainIt,
which is this site's primary registration partner. All
queries about registrations must be addressed to DomainIt
directly, since we at Internet Goldrush do not have access to
the registration process and will therefore not be able to help
you.
Can I link to your site from mine?
You are welcome to link to Internet
Goldrush from your own site, as long as in doing so you do not
imply any kind of endorsement or relationship between your site
and Internet Goldrush. Some suggestions for good ways to link to this site
are available, but you can also make up your own link if you
prefer. NOTE: Internet Goldrush does
not automatically reciprocate links - all requests are evaluated
on a case by case basis.
I would like to use some material from your site on mine.
May I?
