Network Solutions accidentally deleted an important root zone file on Saturday afternoon, causing WebCom customers (over 4,000 account holders) to disappear from cyberspace. WebCom’s executive vice president sent an employee to physically show up at Network Solution’s door after not being able to contact them by phone (their help desk was closed for the weekend). Network Solutions apologized and restored the zone file by 8:00 PM on Sunday.
