A new top-level domain, .tm, is being introduced by NetNames, a Domain Registry company based in London. .tm originally stood for Turkmenistan, a small country who was originally allotted the TLD, but has decided to sell it out. Other countries have also had success in selling their domains, such as .nu for Niue and .to for Tonga.
