The Ukraine is currently looking for a new administrator for its .ua ccTLD after the previous administrator left the ailing economy. A San Francisco man and a group of volunteers gained control of the domain and do not want to relinquish it to the SBU. The extension is still in dispute between the two. Guidelines drafter last year for ccTLDs state that “a government’s wishes with respect to a ccTLD must be given very serious weight” but that “it is equally important to shield a ccTLD manager from shifting political winds.”
