Trademark Infringement

Trademark infringement refers to a domain name that contains an already existing commercial name or trademark. Before registering a domain name, it’s useful to check the USPTO’s (United States Patent and Trademark Office) web site and click on Trademark Search to confirm that you are not registering a trademarked name.  Although it is important to note that this search facility only applies to US trademarks.  If a trademark holder finds that someone is infringing on their trademark, one possible action is to file a UDRP complaint.
